Together Treasure Valley’s partners are excited to give the city of Kuna $15,000 to help fund an interactive sculpture that spells out “KUNA.” The city of Kuna is matching this funding and they will commission an art sculpture that will incorporate kid-friendly elements such as a slide, swing and climbing grips to transform a simple streetscape into a destination for children and families. Kuna’s design committee, stakeholders, and the local community have identified Art as an important component of Kuna’s Downtown Revitalization Project. Therefore, this creative use of signage, to be completed by Spring 2018, will encourage children and families to come play, take pictures and have fun in the new Interactive Art Alley to be located in downtown Kuna.
Kuna is a vibrant small town with a population base just under 20,000. Located west of Boise, it is a popular destination for Treasure Valley residents and is commonly referred to as the Gateway to the Birds of Prey. Kuna also hosts other natural resources such as Indian Creek waterway and the Kuna Greenbelt. As Kuna continues to grow, the stakeholders and the community are focused on a Downtown Kuna Revitalization Project, including public artwork that will ensure Kuna will have a lasting and meaningful impact.
