Did you know: Deanna has lived in the Treasure Valley for 38 years.

Idaho Central Credit Union
Deanna Turner, Business Relationship Manager

What’s your favorite piece of public art and where in the world is it?

Chihuly Art Garden in Seattle.

What’s your go-to book to give a friend?

“The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein – a wonderful story with many life lessons.

If you could change one thing about the Treasure Valley, what would it be and why?

Public transit. I would like to see a light rail system connecting Caldwell and Boise.

One of our area’s treasures is the outdoors. What’s your favorite thing to do here?

I love running/hiking in the Foothills.

What makes the Treasure Valley a treasure?

The simple quality of life.

What “hidden gems” have you discovered living here?

Downtown Boise, the Greenbelt, Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho, Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Basque Museum & Cultural Center.

Name one local business leader you most admire, and tell us why.

Jim Everett, retired CEO of the Treasure Valley YMCA, is a pillar in the community. Jim worked tirelessly to serve people and children in particular through his work at the Y. He is an incredible role model.

Together Treasure Valley had about 100 requests to place the 50 benches we bought for the area. Did that reaction surprise you, and where are you looking most forward to seeing the benches?

The feedback that I’ve received about the Together Treasure Valley project has been very favorable, so I wasn’t surprised by the interest in the benches. I am looking forward to the benches being located in highly visible locations that encourage people to gather and enjoy our beautiful community.

Together Treasure Valley gave $50,000 to help fund Boise’s Vista Gateway Median Arts project. Why was this an important project to fund?

The Vista “Gateway” is one of the first places that many visitors of the Treasure Valley are exposed to as they drive from the airport. Creating beautiful public art along the median will enhance the first impressions of visitors and build pride among the citizens of our community.
