Did you know: Deanna has lived in the Treasure Valley for 38 years.

Deanna Turner,
Business Relationship Manager,
Idaho Central Credit Union

What is the first thing you would show a visitor to the Treasure Valley?

I would take a visitor on a tour of the Boise Greenbelt. In addition to the recreational opportunities that it offers along our beautiful Boise River, the Greenbelt spans 25 miles providing glimpses of our beautiful park system, Boise State University, Albertsons Stadium and the Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial, some of my favorite Treasure Valley attractions.

What makes the Treasure Valley a great place to live?

I have enjoyed the safe, family friendly communities of the Treasure Valley. Recreational opportunities are endless. Some of our family favorites include riding the Greenbelt, attending sporting events, floating the Boise River, skiing at Bogus Basin, and hiking or biking the several hundred miles of Ridge to River Trails. The Treasure Valley also offers art and culture, from ballet and performing arts at the Morrison Center to touring the Basque Museum & Cultural Center in Downtown Boise.

What is the biggest challenge or opportunity for our community in 2016?

The education of our children should be a top priority. With Idaho ranking poorly on national standards exams, I feel that we need to do everything possible to improve our education system. Our community is blessed with generous people willing to give their time, talent and resources to help improve education for our children.

Why did you choose to get involved in Together Treasure Valley?

I love serving and collaborating with other business leaders to improve the Treasure Valley community. Being involved in projects like Together Treasure Valley offers me that opportunity.

Who could be better served by our community?

I believe that the homeless and individuals with drug and mental health issues would be well served by our efforts. Mental health issues plague communities across the nation, and the Treasure Valley is not immune to it. Our community needs to develop more outreach services to address these issues.

Who is someone local who has influenced you?

Jim Everett – The most humble leader in the Treasure Valley. Jim epitomizes a compassionate leader and is an outstanding role model for all of us.

What is your company’s philosophy on the importance of community?
