Nampa’s Together Treasure Valley Computer Lab for Kids will ensure area children will have access to computers to gain the skills necessary for school and future employment.
The Nampa Public Library is dedicated to providing valuable resources to those they serve and with the help of a donation of $8,000 in 2018 from the partners of Together Treasure Valley, young children have safe access to computers. The dedicated computer lab for kids consists of six computers loaded with software and databases that reinforce age-appropriate activities to incite the excitement of learning. The lab is in the first-floor children’s area, away from other public computers, and only accessible to children.
Children have hands on opportunities to explore and challenge themselves in a skills-based environment. In 2018, more than 27,000 children attended library programs at the Nampa Public Library. Therefore, Claire Connely, Nampa Public Library Director said, “We believe our dedicated computer lab will be utilized by area children, helping them become comfortable with computers at an early age and gain the skills necessary for future employment.”
